In Japan, you have QR codes on business cards to get a guy’s e-mail address, phone number, etc. (without having to type any of it in on your phone to add him as a contact) On movie posters, you can scan the code and get a list of theaters within a certain mile radius of where you are now and the showtimes for the rest of the day at these theaters with the option to buy tickets on your phone. If it’s an ad for something that just came out on DVD or a new book, the QR code can take you to amazon’s site and let you login to your account to do a 1-click purchase of said item to have it shipped straight to your home. If you were at a game store, a QR code on a standee could give you a link to a webpage with extra content (wallpaper, unlockable character codes, ringtones, whatever)
